Wine Walk Salgesch
September 12, 2026
A leisurely wine walk through the Salgesch vineyards featuring 19 booths, top-quality wines, culinary delights, and a closing celebration.

The Route
Route Description
The Wine Walk Salgesch starts directly at Salgesch train station and leads along a route approximately 8 kilometers long through the idyllic vineyards surrounding the wine-making village.
After the start, the route climbs steadily towards Oberwallis through the wine-growing landscape to Mengis Suone, where the altitude difference is overcome.
The route then follows the flat Suone path above Salgesch with impressive views of the Rhone Valley. A gentle descent leads the walk back to the village center and ends at the museum square, where the event comes to a convivial conclusion.

Finally, another Wine Walk Salgesch – the most beautiful way to rack up kilometers! Between the impressive mountain backdrop, unique wines, and culinary highlights, every stop becomes a moment of enjoyment. The atmosphere? Cheerful, relaxed, and excellent by the third glass at the latest. A typical Valais festival: warm, delightful, and guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.

As a wine lover, I’m looking forward to joining the hike in Salgesch on September 12, 2026!
After that, meet at Booth 19, Constantin Winery!
Rachel Schmid Pappa, Brig Elementary School
What makes us Valaisans? ”In addition to our rustic dialect, ‘Valais German,’ it’s our down-to-earth nature and sociability that define the people of Valais. We also embrace our traditions and customs—which include a good glass of wine as well as cow-ringing competitions.”
Alessandra Schmid, Ski Mountaineering World Cup athlete, Crans-Montana, Valais
I often go for a run or a bike ride through the vineyards around Salgesch. This landscape is one of a kind. A gourmet and wine hike is a wonderful way to fully experience nature, the local people, and Valais’s wine culture.
